How did you end up working in your respective field?
I have had several jobs which vary in challenges. I was working as a Virtual Assistant and then met Julian & Dave in BNI, which is a networking group. I asked about work opportunities at Bigmores and came in as office assistant. From there my role and responsibilities progressed into the position I have today.
What do you love about your job?
I love that every day is different and I like that I am challenged. Though the operations of a business are fairly set, what happens in the day to day changes. I won’t always be doing the same task or solving the same problems. I also love working with the team here at Bigmores. They make my job even better.
What's one thing about your job that energises you?
Being proactive, seeing a problem and finding its solution.
What's the biggest misconception people have about your position?
Probably that it is boring or needs a lot of skill to do. I just do what comes naturally.
What is the best part about working at Bigmores?
The people.
Any favourite local spots or businesses in Walton you can recommend?
Romaan is a lovely local eatery and very close to our office. It is a solid favourite of the team! I also love being by the river in Walton.
What about a favourite or funny work memory?
We always have a laugh on a Friday, there are so many!
What do you think is the most important part of employee wellbeing?
Being able to be yourself and be comfortable with the people you work with.
What do you do to maintain your wellbeing on busy days?
I remind myself to take it slow and to take breaks as I need them. Sometimes creating a little space actually helps me be more efficient. Otherwise I might end up feeling overwhelmed if I don’t take a step back.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
